The existing storage is attached via Fibre Channel and the plan was to decommission it. So for starters we purchased 2 HP NC365T NIC cards to add these systems and drivers had to be added manually. The drivers for these particular NIC&#8217;s are located at the following link in .iso format. After installing the cards and restarting ESX the NIC&#8217;s did not appear in the console.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/downloads.vmware.com\/d\/details\/dt_esxi4x_intel_10g_825xx\/dHdlYnQldypidGRkKg\">http:\/\/downloads.vmware.com\/d\/details\/dt_esxi4x_intel_10g_825xx\/dHdlYnQldypidGRkKg<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next step is to copy them up to your ESX server. I copied them into the \/home folder on both ESX systems via WinSCP, very easy to use. You can find\u00a0it at the following link:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/winscp.net\/eng\/download.php\">http:\/\/winscp.net\/eng\/download.php<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-617\" title=\"scp-esx\" src=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/scp-esx2-1024x683.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/scp-esx2-1024x683.png 1024w, https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/scp-esx2-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/scp-esx2.png 1043w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once the file has been uploaded to the directory you&#8217;ve chosen open a SSH\/Putty session and connect to the ESX server. and run the following commands:<\/p>\n<p>[root@esxserver1 ~]# cd \/home<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Changes directory to the home folder to verify the file is there<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>[root@esxserver1 home]# ls<\/p>\n<p>vmware-esx-drivers-net-igb_400.3.1.17-1vmw.2.17.249663.452075.iso<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>LS\u00a0lists what&#8217;s in the home folder<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>[root@esxserver1 home]# mkdir \/mnt\/iso<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Creates a mountable folder under \/mnt<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>[root@esxserver1 home]# mount -o loop \/home\/vmware-esx-drivers-net-igb_400.3.1.17-1vmw.2.17.249663.452075.iso \/mnt\/iso<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Mounts the .iso in the home folder to \/mnt\/iso<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>[root@esxserver1 home]# cd\\<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Connects back to root directory<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&gt;<\/p>\n<p>[root@esxserver1 ~]# cd \/mnt<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Changes directory to \/mnt directory<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>[root@esxserver1 mnt]# cd iso<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Changes directory to \/iso directory<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>[root@esxserver1 iso]# ls<\/p>\n<p>doc\u00a0 drivers.xml\u00a0 offline-bundle\u00a0 source\u00a0 TRANS.TBL<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Lists all items in the iso directory, verifying offline-bundle is there<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>[root@esxserver1 iso]# cd offline-bundle<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Changes directory to\u00a0offline-bundle<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>[root@esxserver1 offline-bundle]# ls<\/p>\n<p>INT-intel-lad-ddk-igb-3.1.17-offline_bundle-452075.zip\u00a0 TRANS.TBL<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Lists contents contained in\u00a0offline-bundle<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>[root@esxserver1 offline-bundle]# esxupdate update &#8211;bundle \/mnt\/iso\/offline-bundle\/INT-intel-lad-ddk-igb-3.1.17-offline_bundle-452075.zip<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Runs updates from the .zip file and will show the following information<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Unpacking cross_vmware-esx-dr.. ######################################## [100%]<\/p>\n<p>Installing vmware-esx-drivers.. ######################################## [100%]<\/p>\n<p>Cleaning up vmware-esx-driver.. ######################################## [100%]<\/p>\n<p>Running [vmkmod-install.sh]&#8230; ok.
