This article will help you to determine which versions are affected and which are not.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Systems with following version of OpenSSL are affected<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>OpenSSL 1.0.1 through 1.0.1f<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Systems with following version of OpenSSL are not affected<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>OpenSSL 1.0.1g<\/li>\n<li>OpenSSL 1.0.0<\/li>\n<li>OpenSSL 0.9.8<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From what I&#8217;ve gathered so far the only version of ESXi that has an affected version of OpenSSL on it is ESXi 5.5<\/p>\n<p>To check your VMWare systems for version run the following \u00a0command:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">~ # vmware -vl<\/span><\/p>\n<p>VMware ESXi 5.1.0 build-1483097<br \/>\nVMware ESXi 5.1.0 Update 2<\/p>\n<p>To check your VMWare systems for the OpenSSL version\u00a0run the following \u00a0command:<\/p>\n<p>~ # openssl version -a<br \/>\nOpenSSL 0.9.8y<\/p>\n<p>So based on just this information your VSPhere server is fine.\u00a0ESXi 5.1.0 Update 2 runs\u00a0OpenSSL 0.9.8y which is not affected.<\/p>\n<p>Now we can run the same command on a 5.5 system<\/p>\n<p>~ # openssl version -a<br \/>\nOpenSSL 1.0.1e<\/p>\n<p>This system is affected by the HeartBleed Bug as it falls into the following category:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>OpenSSL 1.0.1 through 1.0.1f<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is some additional output you will see when you&#8217;re running the listed commands on an ESXi server.
