You may want to remove an update that is expired or add an update that was recently released. In the examples below, I will be removing and adding an update to a software update group named \u201cWindows 7 Updates\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To remove an update from a software update group follow the steps below:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Open the SCCM 2012 Console and navigate to the software update group\u00a0for which you would like to remove the software update. In this example, the software update group is named \u201cWindows 7 Updates\u201d. The location in the console would be Software Library\\Overview\\Software Updates\\All Software Updates\\Windows 7 Updates.<\/p>\n<p>Highlight\u00a0then right click the updates\u00a0you would like to remove and choose \u201cEdit Membership\u201d as shown below.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline;\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/plugins..\/..\/uploads\/media\/add-or-remove-a-software-updated-from-an-existing-sowtware-update-group-in-sccm-2012\/image1.png\" width=\"654\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When the \u201cEdit Membership\u201d window appears, you can simply uncheck the box as shown below and click \u201cOK\u201d to remove the update. The update has now been removed\u00a0from the software update group.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline;\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/plugins..\/..\/uploads\/media\/add-or-remove-a-software-updated-from-an-existing-sowtware-update-group-in-sccm-2012\/image2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>To\u00a0add an update to a software update group follow these steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now, to add an update to a software update group, navigate to &#8220;S<span style=\"font-size: medium;\">oftware Library\\Overview\\Software Updates\\All Software Updates&#8221; in the SCCM Console. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/sccm2012addupdate.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2943\" alt=\"sccm2012addupdate\" src=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/sccm2012addupdate.png\" width=\"1108\" height=\"591\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/sccm2012addupdate.png 1108w, https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/sccm2012addupdate-300x160.png 300w, https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/sccm2012addupdate-1024x546.png 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1108px) 100vw, 1108px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Highlight then\u00a0right click the updates<\/span> you would like to add and choose &#8220;Edit Membership&#8221;. When the \u201cEdit Membership\u201d window appears, simply check the software update group for which you would like to add the update and click \u201cOK\u201d.
