You may need this utility when moving vhd files from one subscription to other, or to move vhd\u2019s around when <a title=\"Creating a sysprep\u2019d image of a VM in Windows Azure without copying the vhd file back to your local network\" href=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/?page_id=1787\">creating images<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/clumsyleaf.com\/products\/cloudxplorer\">http:\/\/clumsyleaf.com\/products\/cloudxplorer<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In order to connect to your storage account in Azure you will need the storage account name and the access key. To obtain that go to the Azure console and click on the storage icon<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline;\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/plugins..\/..\/uploads\/media\/using-cloudxplorer-freeware-to-manage-vhd-files-on-windows-azure-storage\/image1.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Locate the storage account you wish to connect to and click on it. At the bottom of the screen you will see the following. Click on the \u201cManage Access Keys\u201d icon<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline;\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/plugins..\/..\/uploads\/media\/using-cloudxplorer-freeware-to-manage-vhd-files-on-windows-azure-storage\/image2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Copy the Storage Account Name and the Primary Access Key information and paste it into a notepad file. We will use this information to connect to the storage from the CloudXplorer utility.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline;\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/plugins..\/..\/uploads\/media\/using-cloudxplorer-freeware-to-manage-vhd-files-on-windows-azure-storage\/image3.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Open up CloudXplorer, go to File -&gt; Accounts<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline;\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/plugins..\/..\/uploads\/media\/using-cloudxplorer-freeware-to-manage-vhd-files-on-windows-azure-storage\/image4.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select New &#8211; &gt; Windows Azure Account<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline;\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/plugins..\/..\/uploads\/media\/using-cloudxplorer-freeware-to-manage-vhd-files-on-windows-azure-storage\/image5.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Add in the information collected from earlier in the article (Account Name and Secret Key), choose to use SSL\/TLS option or not. Then click OK.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline;\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pipe2text.com\/wp-content\/plugins..\/..\/uploads\/media\/using-cloudxplorer-freeware-to-manage-vhd-files-on-windows-azure-storage\/image6.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After clicking OK you CloudXplorer you will be able to view all of the contents of the storage account.
