To do this run ESEUTIL \/MH &#8220;.edb file location&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In our case the command would be eseutil \/mh r:\\rdb\\rdb1.edb<\/p>\n<p>Look at the state value to see the status. For this example our DB showed dirty shutdown<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Step 2<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If the database is in a dirty shutdown state you can perform a soft recovery by running the following command:<\/p>\n<p>eseutil \/r Enn \/L &#8220;Path of the log files&#8221; \/D &#8220;Path of the database path&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In our case it would be:<\/p>\n<p>eseutil \/r Enn \/L r:\\rdb \/D r:\\rdb\\rdb1.edb<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">**<\/span><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The &#8220;<\/span><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Enn&#8221; <\/span><strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">listed in the above command is the prefix of the <\/span><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">log file<\/span><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">s<\/span><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">**<\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Further info can be found at the following link<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/bb123919(v=exchg.80).aspx\">http:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/bb123919(v=exchg.80).aspx<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Step 3<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After the soft recovery is completed, run eseutil \/mh again to check the status of the database.<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Step 4<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The database should be in a clean shutdown state now.
